NFM Technologies asked Gometegui to manufacture a head for the tunnelling machine to be used in the construction of the Barcelona metro.

Gometegui's extensive experience in the manufacture of metal components for the construction of tunnelling machines was the key to the assignment of this project.

Solutions used:

On this occasion, the TBM had a diameter of 12 metres. Robustness and precision manufacturing are vital for the correct operation of this machinery.

The head part withstands extreme working conditions and therefore its quality requirements are very strict. Gometegui put its experience and know-how to ensure compliance with these requirements.
